More about me
My name is Natalie Ashodian.
I work with people that create both digitally & physically - who like
tablets, tripods, Trello, stages, drape and spike tape and are not afraid
to use them.
I have loads of experience in arts administration, venue management, content creation, and operations strategy for people, startups, venues, real estate, and 501c3s. In 2020 I decided to take those skills and apply them to my design work. Rather than building spreadsheets I want to focus on creating spaces.
I use a humanistic, and agile approach to make inhabited environments sustainable, authentic and functional.
Whether its designing a commercial set or a work space. A condo or a corporate event. A Happy Hour or a kid’s play room. I approach it with the same level of levity and professionalism. I take client’s needs, but not myself, too seriously.
In plain english, I get shit done. I’m empathetic. I organize and beautify stuff.
I make places and things functional and aesthetically awesome, and try to avoid single-use junk while doing so.

Where I’ve come from
I’ve been producing visual art since grade school. My cast and crew were neighborhood kids I’d begged to help "make a show" with a stepstool stage and a Fisher-Price tape recorder.
In high school this troublesome behavior escalated to throwing variety shows and making music videos. By my undergrad I was producing festivals, competing as a slam poet, managing the campus art gallery, building props, and modeling for artists and the garment industry.
Since that time I have collaborated on ideas as conventional as planning weddings and as subversive as casting drag performers for live events. I’ve taught for, and sat on the board of, local creative not for profits such as Bay Area Creative and serve as the interim Managing Director and Production Design Lead for Awesome Theatre. I excel at building teams for almost any concept imaginable. I scaled a venue team from zero to 10 and then from 10 to 100+ staff while helping with Curran’s festival, renovation and reopening in 2015, 2017, then in partnership with Ambassador Theatre Group in 2019 and 2022.
My colleagues and clients will tell you that I am passionate about bringing in local green vendors and creatives, from the bar signage to the stage. I take “think global, act local” pretty literally.
After shuttering Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in 2020 I used my skill set in visual arts to shift into home interiors and production design. Like most people, the pandemic forced me to make a priorities shift. Parenthood magnified that and through a lot of nimble posturing, I pivoted into consulting for non theatrical venues. This change has expanded the kinds of projects in my wheelhouse to include things like co-working space planning, tech events design, and helping clients reimagine their homes and remote work spaces.
I think besides my keen “eye” for space, my most innate superpower is my network. I LOVE connecting people with ideas to resources.
In addition to a solid footing in Bay Area arts and culture, I am also a trained in health and safety for large gatherings, as well as contact tracing, CPR and First Aid.
I am an idea driven self-starter, strong communicator, facilitator and creative project leader looking to be involved and support forward thinking projects.
These are a few (hopefully) impressive logos from projects I've been part of & venues I've worked with. Its a little cluttered if you ask me, but slightly more visually appealing than a long name-dropy list. Right?
